In 1979, Stephen wanted to move to a ski area. He was living in Southern California and loved the beach and skiing. The beach was in his backyard but he had to travel to ski, and he knew if he ever wanted to become a really good skier he had to live at a ski area. Just being an "ok" skier wasn't cutting it. So....along with one of his cousins, they researched a number of options, and for no particular reason, except for the slogan, "Ski The Big One", they chose Jackson Hole. The winter of 79/80 was Stephen's first season living in Jackson Hole, and that choice changed his life forever. A year later, he met Kim, who had recently graduated from Dartmouth, where she had been the captain of the ski racing team. They met in summer, so fly fishing was their first sport to share. Kim's family had founded and owned the R Lazy S Guest Ranch, and she was also an excellent fly fisher. Stephen was playing catch up, but not as bad as in the ski arena. Kim was a world-class skier, and was heading back to her job as a ski coach for the Aspen Ski Team after the summer. Love intervened, and Kim decided to stay in Jackson and head up the Jackson Hole Ski Area racing program with Peter Stiegler. Two years later, Stephen and Kim married, and the rest is history....sharing a life-long passion for skiing, fly fishing, and adventure travel.
Stephen and Kim invite you to be in touch and share that passion. Let's get started planning a your next ski adventure.

Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia - TLT Signature Resort
Highlights - Want to ski until you drop, the largest ski area in North America is the place. 100-plus trails on 8,171 acres. The longest trail runs seven miles and descends more than 5,000 vertical feet. Whistler is renowned as an aggressive mountain with tons of expert terrain options, so expert skiers looking to step it up a notch can conquer chutes, couloirs, steep bowls, huge cliffs and technical glades, yet 55% of this massive resort is rated for intermediates, and 20% for beginners. A super spot to learn to ski! And Terrain Park enthusiasts will be stoked with massive features in three different park zones. Stay and Eat - Tyrolean-style base villages divided into the main Village, Upper Village and Creekside provide guests with a range of dining, lodging, après-ski bars, shopping and nightlife options to fit every ski vacation preference. We love the Four Seasons, Fairmont Chateau, and Westin hotels. Private homes and condos: Many options, from luxury to economical. Let us know your style and we'll make recommendations. Getting Here - Arrival at Vancouver International Airport, flights from all over the world. We can greet you with VIP service and private transfer, or arrange for you to take a scenic train trip or rental car to the resort. |
Revelstoke, British Columbia
Highlights - This hidden gem resort is blessed with a massive 480 to 720 inches of snow annually, with 3,000 acres of terrain and 5,620 vertical feet, which is 300 feet more than Whistler Blackcomb. We recommend this skiing vacation for advanced intermediates to experts with many steeps, long groomers, moguls, glades and unrivaled backcountry access. Intermediates will find some mellow cruisers but not many options for beginners. Also a great setting for activities like cross-country skiing, ice-skating and snowshoeing. Stay and Eat - This powder-blessed ski resort is located 3.5 miles from downtown Revelstoke, a quaint railway town with 100 years of skiing history. Excellent dining scene with everything from café/bakeries to sushi. Fun nightlife and live music at a variety of local pubs. . “Revy” as locals call it, also features a new Resort Village at the base of the mountain around the new Nelson Lodge. Sutton Place Hotel is our favorite place to stay for ski-in ski-out. Getting Here - Remote, yes, but only about two hours from Kelowna and Kamloops airports. Calgary and Vancouver are also airport options. Once you arrive, best to rent a car. We’ll have one waiting for you. |
Banff and Lake Louise, Alberta/British Columbia
Highlights - With three resorts to choose from—Mt. Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village—a Banff Lake Louise ski vacation is prime for all skiers and riders. Mt. Norquay, just minutes from the town of Banff, is ideal for a family vacation. Lake Louise Ski Area wins for “biggest” Banff skiing with over 4,000 acres of terrain, and a good mix for beginners and experts. We love skiing here with a group of friends. Sunshine Village is nestled in Banff National Park, 15 minutes from town, and gives skiers and riders a chance to not only make turns on the Continental Divide, but also in two Canadian provinces: Alberta and British Columbia. Because of its slightly higher elevation and remote location, Sunshine often gets the most—and fluffiest—snow of all three. Experts looking for extreme terrain can check out two off-piste zones atop the Continental Divide chairlift. A SkiBig3 lift ticket will cover you at all the resorts. Stay and Eat - Banff National Park is a pristine winter wonderland, and the town always has something going on, with an abundance of shops, great restaurants, bars, and nightlife. And plenty of comfortable places to stay. Our favorite hotels are the Fairmont Banff Springs, and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Private homes and condos: Many options, from luxury to economical. Let us know your style and we'll make recommendations. Getting Here - Just 90 minutes from Calgary International Airport to Banff and a little over two hours to Lake Louise. We will arrange your private transportation or have a rental car waiting. Excellent all-weather, four-lane Trans-Canada Highway, Hwy 1, to the resorts. |

France, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria
Chamonix, France - TLT Signature Ski Destination
Highlights - This "must ski" destination is the oldest skiing area in the French Alps. Some of the world's best expert skiing can be found on Chamonix’s jagged peaks and glaciers that rise 12,500 feet above the valley floor. We also like that the area has more of an authentic alpine flair than other ski resorts’ glitz and glamour. Yet with five main ski areas, accessed via the area’s mini base villages; 50 lifts transport skiers of all abilities to terrain that fits their skills. Les Houches, Le Tour and sunny La Flegere are where beginners and intermediates will thrive. Les Grands Montets is the most popular area for high-intermediates, advanced and expert skiers, and this is our personal favorite. Strong intermediate and above skiers will want to challenge themselves in the area off of the Aiguille du Midi, reached by a two-stage cable car. This 8,000+-foot descent on and along the glacier of Vallee Blanche features spectacular mountain scenery dominated by Mont Blanc. Outdoor enthusiasts can also enjoy an extensive Nordic trail, ski touring and winter paragliding. The Mt. Blanc ski pass includes Megeve and Les Contamines in France, Courmayeur, Italy, and Verbier, Switzerland. Stay and Eat - Chamonix’s village is brimming with stores, from designer boutiques to high performance outdoor gear shops. We recommend staying in the town of Chamonix, either in City Centre or Chamonix South. From these central locations in the village you are within walking distance of all the amenities, gourmet dining, cool pubs and burger joints, plus easy access to shopping, nightlife, and the bus line to access the valley. For 5-star luxury digs our top recommendations are Hotel Mont-Blanc Chamonix and The Hameau Albert 1er Hotel with it's Michelin recommended dining. Both hotels offer complimentary shuttle service to all the valley ski areas. If you prefer to spread out in a nice apartment our favorite accommodation choice is Le Cristal de Jade Palace. Recently remodeled throughout, this feels more like a residence club than a hotel. Private chalets and apartments: Many options, from luxury to economical, spread throughout the valley. Let us know your style and we'll make customized recommendations. Getting Here - Just a 60 minute private car ride from Geneva International Airport. Great to combine with a stay in Geneva at one of our favorite lakeside hotels, or at other nearby resorts like Megeve and Verbier. |
Cortina D' Ampezzo , Italy - The Dolomites
Highlights - Whether you are a hard-core skier/rider, or looking to mix casual runs with gourmet lunches, après delights, shopping and nightlife, this world-famous winter resort rivals any in the Alps. Dolomiti Superski terrain is seemingly endless; a massive interconnected 460-lift system, comprised of 12 resorts and over 750 miles of trails. Experts will find plenty of challenging terrain, but a run down Staunies, especially a south-facing couloir in the Cristallo ski area, earns bragging rights. Intermediates can cruise great snow at the top of Tofana, and carve turns along the ‘hidden valley’ trail from the top of the Pass Falzarego tram. And the main thoroughfares provide the gentle terrain to boost the confidence of beginners. Ski-in, ski-out convenience throughout the area. Stay and Eat - The fashionable village sits in a sunny amphitheater, ringed by the spectacular Dolomite peaks. Off-mountain life centers on Cortina’s main boulevard, Corso, a car-free, shop-lined street where you can browse the latest winter fashions and local crafts. Cortina has a complete range of winter sports facilities since hosting the Olympic Games in 1956, and annually hosts World Cup events in mid-January. Stay in luxury at our favorite hotel - Cristallo, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, or other top hotels and a selection of private villas. Getting Here - Just two hours from Venice Marco Polo Airport by private transportation we will arrange for you. Milan and Innsbruck are other convenient gateways. Great fun to combine with skiing in Austria. |
Val Gardena, Italy - The Dolomites
Highlights - At the beginning of 1960s, the world’s largest ski area, Dolomiti Superski, was brought into being. This ski carousel connects almost 450 ski lifts with only one skipass in about 40 villages in three provinces, with a total ski slope area of over 1200 km. The SELLARONDA is the jewel in the crown of the Dolomiti Superski area, a trip of about 300 km around the SELLA GROUP. The Sellaronda is unique and connects the Ladin valleys through a network of ski lifts and ski slopes. If you are looking for a true ski adventure, and covering a lot of terrain from super-challenging to gentle groomers, you'll find it all here. Stay and Eat - One of our favorite hotels is Ciasa Salares Hotel, with a tradition of fine gourmet dining, and dedicated cheese and chocolate rooms. No better place to enjoy an adventurous skiing experience combined with luxury accommodations and apre ski delights. Private chalets and apartments: Many options, from luxury to economical, spread throughout the regions. Let us know your style and we'll make customized recommendations. Getting Here - Just two hours from Venice Marco Polo Airport by private transportation we will arrange for you. Milan and Innsbruck are other convenient gateways. And as a bonus ski adventure, we love staying at The LeFay Resort and Spa Dolomiti, just a two hour drive from Val Gardena or Venice, and three hours from Milan. With a single ski pass you can enjoy the entire Madonna di Campiglio ski are, the largest in Trentino. |
Zermatt, Switzerland - TLT Signature Ski Destination
Highlights - This is the birthplace of alpine mountaineering, neatly tucked beneath the shadow of the famed Matterhorn. The legendary village of Zermatt is so much more than just a ski destination; it's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a luxury retreat, and a symbol of boldness and freedom. Cars are not allowed in the village, so you arrive via train from Tasch and get around by electric vehicles, carriage, or just enjoy exploring on foot. We love walking around town apre ski and in the evening. The skiing, exhilarating of course, takes in all the mythic angles of the Matterhorn on slopes that span over into Italy. On-mountain dining is always a treat, from authentic Italian dishes to Alpine-inspired cuisine. Need a day off from skiing? Enjoy your hotel spa, or one of many adventure activities we can arrange. Stay and Eat - Our favorite hotels include: Mont Cervin Palace, Hotel Schweizerhot Zermatt, and Grand Hotel Zermatterhof. How about dining in town? From Michelin-starred choices to a cozy fondue chalet, we'll recommend the best of the best to suit your tastes. Private chalets and apartments: Many options, from luxury to economical, spread throughout the regions. Let us know your style and we'll make customized recommendations. When you're ready we'll have a private car take you to meet the train from Tasch to Zermatt. |
