Getting Here |
Exclusive access to more than 20 kilometers of Strobel Lake, more than 10 kilometers of the best fishing area on Barrancoso River, plus Lago Verde and some smaller creeks and lagoons.
Sight fishing in glass clear water along the shorelines to cruising fish using floating lines, slow stripping, small to medium size streamers and nymphs, skating big foam flies and mouse patterns, or even hanging scuds and small nymphs from big dries. This is adrenaline-rush fishing, knowing you can hook a monster on any cast. (Fish here are measured in kilos, not inches.) And the Barrancoso River is ridiculous, better than Alaska for stalking and sight-casting to huge bows in skinny water. And when you hook up, hold on amigo, that fish is going ballistic. The guides are top professionals who know each area of the lake and river perfectly. They are patient instructors and good companions who make great fishing an even better overall experience. This is truly a unique and unforgettable fly fishing journey. |
The hospitality at the lodge is second to none. The owners, Beto and Lucho, are often at the lodge to host their guests, and our friends Nico Botting and lodge hostess Karina and their staff are always on hand to greet you and make you feel right at home. You can relax in the large living area and bar with wood-burning fireplace, or out on the deck overlooking Lago Verde.
Most meals are served in the connected dining area, though an asado at the owners home on the property happens once a week and is a special occasion. The Argentine cuisine is delicious, everything home-made, and accompanied by a fine selection of wines from Mendoza and Salta. Large spacious guest rooms (with king bed or two queens) are accessed via a railed deck that runs from the wader and fishing gear room, to each guest room. Single rooms can be booked at no extra cost. All bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower and tub and plenty of room for all your gear. |
